HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY AMERICA
The Cabot Co-op was in Middlebury to help celebrate Memorial Day and pay tribute to those who have fought for our freedoms and rights since our country's founding, and as we all know freedom is not free, all gave some, but some gave all by giving their last full measure of devotion for our freedoms.
So lets go ahead and be happy and celebrate by honoring them today.
Thank You and Rest In Peace !!
And we can also fold into that our Centennial Celebration While we are at it.
Does it get any better than that?
Yeah that what I thought too.
Had to get a pretty early start to get to Middlebury by 7:45 by way of Cabot Headquarters in Waitsfield & the moon was still pretty high in the sky as I was leaving the ranch.
Got there about 40 minutes early but thats much better than 40 minutes late.
Found the meeting place and the Cabot Float for the parade
Later on Ashley came with her husband Devon and I followed them over to the Park where we were supposed to set up and we did so. I had not done this event before so I wasn't sure about getting the perfect location so I just grabbed a shady spot and preceded to start setting up.
A few minutes after Mrs Foster from Fosters Bro's Farm and the Rotary Volunteers came to gather their cheese for the parade and to pitch in to get things ready.
It was looking pretty sketchy as it was near starting time and I was worried we were in the wrong place but turns out that no place was perfect at that point in time because everyone was up on the road and not down in the park.
Once the Parade started and it got near us things picked up pretty quick.

The Rotary was in the parade as well and helping Cabot with the event also.
Not sure who these yahoos were but their float looked nice..:-)
Hey Somebody stole our van
Scouts of America was well represented as well, color guard and all.
We had many present day fans stopping by and it was obvious they will remain supportive for many years to come, I'm sure of that as they were expressing how much they loved our cheese.
Not sure what this was all about but they were cute little critters.
Middlebury High School Marching band sounding very good.
A lot of them stopped by the Tent after the parade.
The Mt Cairo Shriner's color guard from Rutland came up for the Parade.
And they brought their snazzy little car's with them also.
Once the parade was over people backed on into the park and we got busy right up through the Memorial Celebration By The Middlebury Memorial Statue.
And it stayed that was up to almost 11:00 so it was slow start but a busy finish to the day.
Devon and Ashley came by and offered to help close up.
I said I would be OK and they could head home and I stayed there for a few more minutes until after the honor guard did their Memorial Dedication along with the 21 Gun Salute for those that gave all for us, which has always been an emotional thing for me to watch.
After that things cleared out quickly and by about 11:15 I was packed and out of there ready for my "American Le Mans" trek over Rt 17 back to Waitsfield and then back home.
Ended up being a very good Day with the Alpine and the Seriously Sharp
Stealing the show.
Glad I could be a part of it.
