Heady "Topper" Hosts The 2019 Heady "Trotter"

About 1400 Runners Gather at the Alchemist Brewery in Stowe today for the running of the Heady Trotter 4 mile run. !! What a great turnout it was.
There were runners of all ages participating.
I was there not to run but to support and Promote our Cabot Farmers
Prior to, during, and after the event.
When I left my house at about 6:00 AM it was 29° dark and dank with a  pretty heavy fog.
I was thinking to myself I hope it warms up quickly since I was not in the mood to be serving up "Cheesesicles"
I arrived about 6:50 AM and there was not much change from my house.

It was pretty quiet when I arrived so I unloaded all my stuff and then drove and parked off site

When I got back there a few more people around and there were several sites that had been set up a day earlier.

So I preceded to get mine set up minus the samples.

I thought my plates should match the trees since foliage had peaked.

Shortly there after people started to ramble in much earlier than I had anticipated,  like 8:00 . Still cold and a heavy mist in the air.

Looking and feeling pretty forlorn at that time, but everyone was in good spirits.
Excited about the event.

The starting line was barely visible at this point in time.

In light of all the people I decided it best to go ahead and load the goods.

And things were picking up in a hurry.

People steadily pouring in

I was really busy so I missed the launch of the runners
but the place was packed !!

There was about a 20 minute lull after that but not much of a lull.
Most runners had an entourage waiting for them to finish.

Once that happened it was absolutely nonstop.
There was a steady line at the table.
Typical crowd pictured here.

There were Many Many Cheese loving Happy fans after that all hung around until after the raffles and awards ceremonies.

They had a live band playing which I
Could not see but I could hear, but I did go down as things were winding down to get a video of them performing.
They were called "Raised By Hippies" a pretty talented group going at it in spite of the cold. By then the Foamy topped liquid had starting influencing the actions of the spectators I briefly got video bombed a little bit. :-)

If you just want to watch a video of the whole event, with some appropriate back ground music, here ya go.

At almost 2 o'clock sharp people saddled up and headed home including me.
I Had a great time and I'm glad I was there.

Leaf Blower Classic

Got to the Site for the set up and I was a tad early but approximated my spot and started getting set up anyway.

The next guy that showed was way down at the other end and acted like he knew where he belonged too so we just went ahead and got into it.

So went ahead and got the basic set-up ready

By then some others were there and were getting prepped up nobody hollered at me so I was pretty accurate with my spot selection.

So once everyone was about ready to go I finalized the table.

Then the participants started to roll in and roll out at their appointed times.

By Mid morning the last riders were getting ready to hit the trail and they did, so I packed up my "chill'n tub" and headed out to do my Random Acts of Cheddar

My 1st stop was the "Alchemist Brewery" just down the road a tad.

People there were very receptive to me and Cabot there and I was nonstop passing out cheese to some "Seriously Nice" folks thanking them for supporting our Farmers in the past, and please continue to do so in the future.

There were people coming and going the whole time I was there.

After about 15 or 20 minutes I left to head up to my next stop.
The traffic on the Mountain road was horrific around 11:45 or so.

Then I wandered on up to the "Brewery & Bierhall" at Trapps .

There were people coming and going like crazy there as well and a nice crowd at the Patio out back also.

Parking lot was almost full.

The Patio was full of receptive and great fans of Cabot.
And why not, Beer, Pretzels and the "Worlds Best Cheddar" ?
How much better could it get?
Unless I joined in of course :-)

Passing out cheese and getting big smiles from the fans was easy they all loved it.

I was almost out of cheese so I figured I better get down to the Firehouse and the Police Station and after crawling through traffic to get there I could not get anyone to open the doors and let me in at either place, so I had to get packing to get back to the Ranch Camp before the bikers started showing up, so I did.
When I got back they were setting up the Tables for the dinner coming up a little later

Shortly there after the band showed up for the entertainment.

The kept playing as the riders were coming and partaking of some much needed nourishment including cheese of course.

Around 4:00 things were starting to settle in and hanging out and shooting the breeze recapping the day.

So I preceded to fold the tent and head home after a long, active fun filled day.

Glad I could be a part of it.
